Moving In Faith
Letter To God About Faith
Hello Heavenly Father,
You are most Holy.
Let your kingdom come, and your will be done on earth, and in my life as it is in heaven.
I present to you what I am learning about Moving In Faith.
Paul’s incredible faith in You shook my heart when I read Galatians 1:15-17.
It never occurred to me that faith like that was even possible.
Much less that someone had it, and walked in it.
Now, Paul writes to the Galatian Church,
“But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.”
To help explain what I learnt, I’m going to break down this section.
Paul was set apart before he was born.
He was called by God’s grace.
God was pleased to reveal Jesus to Paul.
Paul would preach (the revealed Christ) among the Gentiles.
Paul did not consult with anyone, he went out to preach.
Paul went to Arabia.
He didn’t go back to Jerusalem to check with the disciples whether he had truly encountered Jesus ~ this is just mind boggling to me.
He just went out to do what God by his grace called him to do.
There are many times in my life where I have doubted the guidance of the voice of God, the character of Jesus, and the promised that You spoke in the Bible.
I believe that are true but then on some level did not apply to me.
Especially, when it came to hearing your voice.
There were times when I doubted if I was even hearing from you.
You say, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.“ (John 10:27)
There are times when I struggle to accurately discern your voice.
There are times when I need to confirmation about something You are telling me.
There are times when I’m shocked by what I believe you’re asking me that I honestly don’t know what to do.
(Mostly when what I hear breaks my own expectations but doesn’t contradict the Bible.)
So, what have I learnt about moving in faith?
It is the result of a personal revelation of Jesus.
It requires complete trust in God.
It is the manifestation of conviction in God’s character
(Basically, you are thoroughly convinced that God is who he says he is.)It holds God’s opinion higher than any man’s.
(This also makes it a fruit of true humility ~ a right understanding and estimation of the relationship between God and men.)
I know that there is more wisdom to be found even in just these few verses.
They also bring a whole new light to evangelism and salvation, and that is something I will discuss in a different letter.
Thank you Heavenly Father for reading this!
I will see you in the next edition.
Have a blessed day! 👋
